The only time when I'm really focus is when I'm doing my favourite thing.

This weekend was a productive weekend. I spent most of my time doing what I love to do, which involves food..yes that would be cooking and baking :D To me, cooking is very much therapeutic. When I'm cooking, I'm so focus somehow it made me forget all those unnecessary things in my head. Also, cooking new things, trying new techniques is really fun :)

My family and I would usually go out for dinner on Saturday night. But since I'm on my sem break, my father ask me to make dinner for the family. So the main course for dinner was fish. Tenggiri, to be exact. I'm not sure the name in English tho. As for the appetizer, I made 2 kinds of bruschetta, mushroom and the regular bruschetta which has tomato and basil.

Bruschetta is pretty easy to do. It's so simple yet delicious. Fresh diced tomato, drizzled with olive oil and crushed garlic, topped with basil leaves..Just the right thing to start of the meal :)

As for the mushroom bruschetta, you can find the recipe here  :)

Tried Chef John's incredible Herb Crusted Salmon recipe for this dish. I changed the salmon to tenggiri, obviously :D

So here's how mine turned out;
I added steamed veges on the sides for the fish.
On Sunday afternoon, I made Spaghetti Carbonara with Cheesy garlic bread. I bought a baguette and a ciabatta bread yesterday at the market and I need to use them quick before they get moldy.

I used 2 types of cheese for this recipe, Mozarella and Cheddar.

For this recipe, I added bacon and portobello mushrooms.
Since I woke up pretty early today, I was getting bored pretty much after I watched a few shows on tele. So, I challenged myself to make my very first cheesecake. I'm not a fan of cheesecake but since my mum showed me a few recipes online, I feel like I want to try and make em'. My cheesecake turned out just fine. Alhamdulilah :))

My Chocolate Cheesecake

Thanks to Kak Ita 's recipe, I managed to make them from scratch. This lady does wonders in baking. I'm not kidding. She's one of the best :)
